Last weekend we saw the Thor Love and Thunder reveal drop amongst several other Marvel titles headed to the MCU, specifically they’ll be new entries to the MCU Phase 4. The Thor: Love and Thunder announcement dropped during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, and although we didn’t get much in the way of a plot, a trailer or stills we did find out that a new female Thor would be joining.

The Thor Love and Thunder reveal: what we know

At the Thor Love and Thunder reveal we found out that the story will continue to follow Thor as the God of thunder played by Chris Hemsworth. The events will carry on in the footsteps of Avengers: Endgame, with Natalie Portman being cast as a new female Thor. Valkyrie will also be making an appearance played by Tessa Thompson.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be directed by Taika Waititi who was behind the magic that made Thor: Ragnarok an awesome movie. The movie has been given a release date for November 5th 2021 and is collecting its inspiration from the Mighty Thor from Jason Aaron.

We mentioned the Thor Love and Thunder reveal dropped alongside several other Marvel entries, with much more detail revealed about the Black Widow movie, and in addition the possibility of The Fantastic Four making their way into the Marvel MCU.

As time passes we’ll no doubt get more info about the Thor Love and Thunder reveal such as a thicker plot, as well as a fully-fledged trailer once filming begins. What do you think of Natalie Portman taking the role of a female Thor? As the title suggests, there’s definitely going to be some chemistry coming in between Hemsworth and Portman. With that in mind though, we know things never go quite so smoothly for the God of Thunder.

I've been a gamer ever since I was old enough to hold a controller, early 90's to be exact. My first console was a NES, with my favourite games ranging from Super Mario to Duck Hunt. Fast forward almost 30 years and I'm now a PS4, PC and Switch player. My ideal genres are RPG and RTS titles, so Assassin's Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Viv 6 and Two Point Hospital are included in my mix.

Have your say!
